We absolutely LOVED making this dress for our bride Anna, who married her man Charlie back in August of this year at her family home in England. Everything from the delicate lace detail on the back through to the way the silk falls at the front. It was a labour of love (especially those buttons), but Anna was an amazing person to work with and fully put her trust in us. The last photo says it all…..lovely wedding for two very lovely people. Designing and making a dress for a Bride is a big deal. It’s like the most important dress they’ll ever wear. Ever! So as you can imagine the journey from start to finish with a Bride can be a bonding one. I’m really lucky to say that I remain friends with my clients, and Davina is certainly no exception. I absolutely LOVED creating Davina’s gown. She honestly has to be one of the loveliest people I have met. And she’s blooming’ gorgeous to boot.
Davina married her beau Sandy back in August of last year in Edinburgh, surrounded by friends and family. Their wedding was captured beautifully by Carley Buick Photography.
The dress…layers of sumptuous crepe satin created a stunning silhouette which sat perfectly underneath the most intricate, vintage inspired, beaded lace. The antique champagne colour of the dress looked stunning against Davina’s skin tone. I actually wept when this dress left our design studio!
Natalie is a girl after my own heart. Not only is she a Northerner, but she also hails from just down the road from me back in the UK. I liked her instantly. “I don’t want no frilly, bride’y stuff. I’m not in to that.” Perfect I thought! “I don’t want traditional Ivory either. I want something a bit different.” My inner self was doing a little happy dance as I sat in our meeting! Natalie is a pretty girl so I wanted to reflect not only her personality but suit her shape and style. We went for a beautiful soft taupe shade in a pure silk, the colour looked amazing in the photos. We kept the style elegant, simple and beautifully cut. Hand beading finished it off perfectly. Natalie and George are both mad F1 fans so the venue at The Viceroy in Abu Dhabi was perfect for them. The photos taken by local photographer Liz at JVR are some of my favorite of our dresses to date! B x
The Lake Districts is a special place for me. As a child we would spend family holidays in our holiday caravan in Cockermouth near the beautiful Lake Windermere. How lucky I was to have grown up with it just an hour away. So imagine my delight when Bride Natasha came to the studio one day enquiring about a bespoke gown for her legal wedding in The Lake Districts! Natasha was one of the sweetest people I have had the pleasure to work with. We went knee length and flirty with this one. Beautiful, soft chiffon was pleated and draped to create a delicate sweetheart neckline, down to the flirty and floaty skirt. We finished off the look with a hand appliquéd lace to the straps and the bodice. LOVE IT! B x
Back in December of last year the ever so lovely Belle married her beau, Steve, in her bespoke Moirai gown. The dress was made up of layers of smooth, sumptuous crepe satin, embellished with a delicately beaded lace. Hand finished with pearl buttons down the back. Belle was a dream to work with, and many hours and Saturdays were spent together creating her one off gown. We also had the pleasure of not only creating Belle’s engagement dress, but also two of her Bridesmaids dresses. We miss our Saturdays with you Belle!! x B x
